SOUTH INDIA

SOUTH INDIA
The Deccan plateau makes up most of the central part of southern India, bordered by the mountain ranges of the Western and Eastern Ghats. During the medieval age, a number of India’s greatest dynasties grew within this region. Almost every city contains architectural jewels: the maharajahs of Mysore constructed exquisite royal palaces and gardens while the city of Hyderabad was built by its ruler to resemble paradise itself.
Jump on a 4x4 safari in Panna National Park, looking out for Bengal tigers, leopards and sloth bears; visit the beautiful sal and bamboo forests of Kanha, inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book; search the skies for migratory steppe eagles in Bandhavgarh; and venture into Satpura on a walking safari.
